How to create a OC (simplified)
Ever wondered how people create those really unique OCs? Well this is a really simple way of making them.
1.) Think of the kind of story you’ll be writing.
Is your OC going to be in a horror Fanfic? Or a romantic fanfic? Or are they going to be in a Fanfic set in the Victorian era? Think of what you’re Fanfic will be about before you decide other things.
2.) Decide the basics.
What will their name be? What are the hair, skin and eye color? How old are they? How tall are they? What are their family like?
3.) Do some ‘what ifs’
Try to think ‘What would my oc do if their family was robbed’ or ‘What would your OC do if they forgot lunch’ try to think about what your OC would do, this will give you an idea of what their personality is like.
4.) Give them some faults.
If you think your character is too perfect give them some faults, otherwise your story will seem boring. Don’t make them tall, thin and beautiful (don’t make them a Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu.)
5.) Think of how your character would talk.
Imagine if in your Fanfic your character was having a conversation with someone. Would they be polite? Would they be awkward? Try to imagine it.
6.) Make sure they are interesting to you!
If your OC bores you, they will most likely bore others. Make sure they interest you and are fun to write about!
Good luck!

Pre-Writing and Brainstorming.
Writing is a multi-step process. If Shakespeare were to just write whatever he wanted to with no prior planning, well
we probably wouldn't know who Shakespeare is today. Writing takes time, thought and a lot of organization in order for it to come out as one, cohesive work. In the midst of your random scribbling, many of your ideas may seem to be jumbled and in-cohesive. This makes it hard for you to really get your ideas in motion. How do you fix that? Well, the ultimate way to ensure flow with writing is to undergo Pre-Writing and a little organized Brainstorming.

How to Improve Your Writing Style
While I’ve written articles about writing style in the past, they were designed mostly to define what style is and didn’t provide much help for improvement. This article contains some practical tips I’ve discovered that will actually help you improve your style and hopefully provide a foundation for why good style matters. I believe good style is important for many reasons, but mostly because I want my readers to feel like the time they spent with my story was worthwhile, pleasant, and maybe even a little enlightening.
“All readers come to fiction as willing accomplices to your lies. Such is the basic goodwill contrac
